M9 is an important cultural intervention that represents unique in the European museum landscape: the spearhead of a work of urban renewal in the center of Mestre, this new reality deals with a complex theme such as the Italian twentieth century through 8 thematic sections where the “small story” is intertwined with great epochal changes; the peculiarity of this permanent exhibition itinerary is that the narrative is carried out without original finds and documents, emphasizing to the maximum the role of multimedia and interactive interventions. Limiteazero, in partnership with Clonwerk, has designed and created the section dedicated to work and the economy: MONEY MONEY MONEY. Economy, work, production and well-being. A complex and difficult to disclose theme, interpreted through a large central installation that deals, through a gamification mechanism, with the repetitiveness of work on the assembly lines of the 20th century. Around this central spine, a series of exhibits have been inserted that, using different digital storytelling strategies, tell about aspects of Italians' working and economic life: from the welfare state to family budgets to industrial districts, the result is a rich and multifaceted fresco of the economy and work of the past century. Two other interventions were rendered through sophisticated animations that combine the languages of infographics and motion graphics, recounting the great leap in the Italian economy in the 1900s; the last work is included in the politics section and tells the evolution of Italian partisanism through the post-war election results, interpreted through the metaphor of an underwater world where the big fish eats the small one but which can sometimes, due to a bizarre form of budding, give life to a myriad of new subjects.
